ARTIST STATEMENT

Mark Haslett is a photographer, photoartistry artist and visual storyteller,mixed media Artist. When Mark started photography he found he wanted more from his images and for them to tell a story which he visualises in his creative mind. the skills he has acquired allow him to bring those ideas to life in his art.Mark has always had a real love of Fantasy and mythology and the Spiritual world and the wonder and Beauty of Nature's flora and Fauna in all its forms.

once an idea is envisaged it is jotted down in one of his many art pads and from there the idea is expanded on till he is happy with the final idea, from there a model and location is selected, props and costumes are created for the specific shoot to help bring the image to life, once he is happy he picks up his Camera and the shoot takes place, then the magic begins as he creativly brings the images together to create the art work using the photoshop's layers and textures to create the look he wants for the piece and its how he Visualised the final image in his mind. Whilst doing this, he has found he forget’s his anxieties which he suffers from and immerses himself in his creative vision and finds it both calming and fulfilling and wants to share his work and share their stories with others to enjoy.
